Agriliv Research Foundation (ARF), formerly known as Ayurvet Research Foundation, is a Public Charitable Trust registered under the Indian Trust Act, 1882. Established in 2005, ARF undertakes and supports scientific research and extension activities in the field of natural and applied sciences, with a focus on creating practical, sustainable and cost-effective solutions for farmers and rural communities. ARF began its journey with a focus on animal health and soil health, with the objective of promoting sustainable agriculture and livestock-based livelihoods. Over the years, its work has expanded to address critical challenges related to livestock health, sustainable agriculture, food and nutrition, rural livelihoods, entrepreneurship and natural resource management. Our 5F Approach The concept of 5F Security – Food, Feed, Fodder, Fuel and Fertilizer was envisioned by ARF in 2006. The 5F approach promotes the sustainable integration of livestock and agriculture, enabling efficient use of available resources and reducing wastage. It is based on a circular and integrated farming approach, where the output or by-products from one activity can become valuable inputs for another. This helps improve resource efficiency, reduce production costs, enhance farm productivity and strengthen the overall sustainability and resilience of farming systems. Through research, innovation, field demonstrations, capacity building and community-based interventions, ARF works towards improving livestock and soil health, food safety, farm profitability and rural livelihoods.
